Team,

On January 6, the United States Capitol was invaded by domestic terrorists. It’s one of the darkest days in our nation’s history, and Democrats won’t stop until we get to the bottom of what happened.

Yet most Republicans don’t seem to care. Minority Leader McCarthy refused to participate in a bipartisan commission in good faith, and the GOP has slammed the door in the face of Capitol police officers who still suffer from the trauma of that day.

We still don’t know all the details of what led to the insurrection. We’re committed to finding out if there were financial backers or organizers who planned an attack on the Capitol, and we will hold them accountable.

Will you join me in telling the GOP to stop blocking investigative efforts into this attack on our democracy? Add your name to our petition >>>

This shouldn’t be a political debate. Wanting to ensure that our Capitol is never invaded again shouldn’t be partisan.

Democrats are committed to conducting a thorough, fact-based investigation into what happened in the leadup to the January 6 insurrection. We’ll then work to ensure nothing like it ever happens again.

Thank you,
— David Cicilline
