I’m writing to you today about three excellent candidates running for re-election to represent their districts in the Virginia House of Delegates. These proven leaders bring a wealth of experience, results, and passion to their campaigns. The first candidate is Wendy Gooditis. Wendy has served Loudoun, Clarke, and Frederick Counties in the House of Delegates since 2017, when she defeated a three-term incumbent Republican. Since then, she’s fought to expand Medicaid to more than 500,000 people, passed legislation to make schools safer, and pushed to improve Virginia’s highways.

Wendy was inspired to run after her brother, Brian, was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. She saw how hard it was to get him the care that he needed -- and it’s why she’s so committed to making sure every Virginian has access to affordable health care.

Next up is Elizabeth Guzman: Elizabeth came to America from Peru more than two decades ago as a young single mother with $300 in her pocket. She worked three minimum wage jobs to make ends meet, and eventually put herself through Northern Virginia Community College and became a social worker protecting children from abuse.

Now, Elizabeth is running for her third term in the Virginia House of Delegates, where she has been a prolific and effective legislator representing Prince William and Fauquier Counties. She’s delivered for her district by expanding Medicaid, fighting for military families, and improving transportation options.

The final candidate is Candi King: Candi was elected to the House of Delegates for the first time just a few months ago -- in the January 2021 special election. Before her election, she served her district as a community relations professional, a special needs parent advocate, and volunteer.

In her time in the Virginia House of Delegates, Candi has already expanded COVID-19 vaccination capacity, secured pay raises for teachers, and passed paid sick leave for home health care workers.
