Next year's elections will be crucial to the future of our democracy.
It's not enough that we maintain our slim Democratic majorities in the House and Senate -- we've already seen that Republicans will filibuster any legislation to protect our democracy. Instead, we need to defeat the Treason Caucus and replace them with leaders who will fight for democracy protections.
It won't be an easy task. In fact, many critics already want to write off next year as a Republican victory. Despite what they're saying, I know that we can defeat the Treason Caucus. Rep. Scott Perry's district is in a state that was carried by Joe Biden and he was re-elected by just six points. Rep. Mike Garcia won by just 333 votes. In Texas, Rep. Beth Van Duyne defeated her Democratic opponent by 1.3%.
I could go on, but the point is: if we work hard and work together, we can win.
By keeping the pressure on the Treason Caucus from now until the midterm elections, we can ensure their constituents don't forget their attacks on our democracy or the events of January 6. But we can't do this work alone -- we need your support right away if we're going to hold these dangerous Republicans accountable for their attacks on our democracy.
