I’m reaching out to ask if you can make a contribution of $5, or whatever you can afford, to help my team and I hit our July end-of-month goal.

We’ve set an ambitious goal of $14,000, so any amount you can give will go a long way. If you’re already ready to make that contribution, you can do so here, but if you’d like to hear more first, please keep reading.

My progressive colleagues and I are beginning to make progress on a number of issues that will improve the lives of working Americans. Just recently, I introduced the Inclusive Elections Act, which will restore the portion of the Voting Rights Act that the Supreme Court dismantled in its recent decision.

And the rollout of the child tax credit - which my Democratic colleagues I fought to include in the American Rescue Plan - has been an enormous success.

But the truth is we still have a long way to go. Many of the legislative priorities I’m fighting for won’t be possible if we don’t abolish the filibuster. And we’re going up against a lot of resistance, both from Republicans and a few members of our own party.

Our movement has a lot of work to do, and I am working overtime to get it done.

But in order to keep up this fight, I have to ensure that my re-election campaign has the funds it needs to fight off any primary and Republican challengers. Last cycle, the field included several self-funded candidates trying to buy this seat. We have to prepare for that to happen again.

So if you can, please make a donation today to help us hit our ambitious end-of-month goal so that I can remain focused on championing progressive priorities in Congress, not fundraising for re-election.
