We’re making real progress. Thousands have received assistance to cover their entire rent debt and help with utility bills too! But we won’t rest until everyone who is eligible gets their money!
UPDATE:
The State has told us that the ONLY reasons for denial of rental assistance applications will be if you are not income eligible. The allowable income levels are pretty high, and it’s the income you were receiving during the months you owe rent – not your income prior to the pandemic – so most people we are working with qualify. Or you can get denied for applying to the wrong jurisdiction (city/county/state), but then you can fix it. Some cities – like Los Angeles – are not currently open for new applications. But they have been given the funding and they will reopen.

Estamos logrando un progreso real. ¡Miles han recibido ayuda para cubrir toda su deuda de renta y también ayuda con las facturas de servicios públicos! ¡Pero no descansaremos hasta que todos los que son elegibles reciban su dinero!
ACTUALIZAR:
El Estado nos ha dicho que las ÚNICAS razones para denegar las solicitudes de asistencia para la renta serán si sus ingresos fueron demasiados altos. Los niveles de ingresos permitidos son bastante altos y son los ingresos que recibía durante los meses en los que debe renta, no sus ingresos antes de la pandemia, por lo que la mayoría de las personas con las que estamos trabajando califican. O puede ser rechazado por presentar una solicitud en la jurisdicción incorrecta (ciudad / condado / estado), pero luego puede solucionarlo. Algunas ciudades, como Los Ángeles, no están abiertas actualmente para nuevas aplicaciones. Pero se les ha dado la financiación y volverán a abrir.
