FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 26, 2021 Contact: Derek Dufresne [email protected] 603-860-7781 Shootings, Shootings, and More Shootings. Manchester, NH - Victoria Sullivan issued the following statement on Mayor Joyce Craig's inaction following a spree of recent shootings around the Queen City in the last week: "After reporting last week of the 7 shootings across the city within hours of each other, Mayor Joyce Craig's leadership and voice has been virtually non existent. As violent crime incidents continue to top headlines, the citizens of our city want to know...where is Joyce Craig? Manchester is unfortunately following a national trend of violent crimes in cities in which "woke" liberal mayors are leading. Has the mayor course-corrected on any of her crime plans beyond just shallow talk crafted by her press team? What is she actually doing? What is the plan? Something's got to give. "Every single day, I am making my case to the voters that we simply can't afford more of the status quo in the leadership of our city, whether it comes to crime, or a whole host of quality of life challenges Manchester is facing. For example, addressing bail reform in a serious way would have a positive impact, as many of the violent offenders committing crimes around the city are repeat offenders. "I know that we can do better. We must do better for the future of our city." VICTORIA'S PLAN: Crime is a serious issue that must be faced with a renewed focus on law enforcement and community-based solutions centered on a long-term plan rather than reactionary measures. I will work with our police department and community leaders to increase the number of beat officers and build stronger bonds in our neighborhoods. We will create a more consistent presence on our streets and will focus on public safety issues surrounding the opioid epidemic, homelessness downtown, and the timely removal of gang graffiti that covers our buildings and bridges.
