After weeks of fighting Kevin McCarthy and a Republican party bent on protecting Trump at all costs, Nancy Pelosi kicked the seditionists off of the January 6th investigation commission, and this week, their work begins. 

This investigation is critical for understanding how Trump’s lies risked our democracy, how his cronies in Congress are carrying on the authoritarian movement he started, and how we can finally hold them accountable. But McCarthy and Republicans continue to do everything they can to keep us from getting at the truth – including demanding a boycott on GOP participation and calling Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney “Pelosi Republicans” for putting country over party.

The Jan. 6th committee is one of our best chances to uncover the plot behind the attack and their continued assaults on voting rights and election legitimacy. We can’t let the autocratic movement get away with their insurrection, and we can’t let voters forget about January 6th. This committee is the best way for Democrats in Congress to expose the truth and defend our democracy.
