With the Republican incumbent retiring, the GOP primary candidates in North Carolina are dueling it out to see who can rile up Trump’s extreme MAGA base the most.

But this is a seat Democrats can win. Last year’s Senate race was decided by a margin of 1.8 percent — less than 100,000 votes. Cheri has already proven she can win statewide by doing it twice before.

And John, Black women are egregiously underrepresented in the United States Senate. Only 2 Black women have ever served in the Senate. Currently, there are no Black women in the chamber since Kamala Harris took the office of the Vice Presidency. It’s time for that to change.
