Hi team,

We wanted you to be one of the first to hear:

The Missouri Supreme Court unanimously sided with voters today, ruling that Medicaid expansion will proceed and 275,000 people will now have access to life-saving health care!

Our team at The Fairness Project helped Missourians vote to expand Medicaid directly at the ballot box last year, but out-of-touch politicians then tried to block our win, ignore the results of the election, and avoid giving health care to hundreds of thousands of people in need.

Today, the people won. The radical efforts to ignore elections failed. Progress won.

This is a great day for the 275,000 people in Missouri who will now have access to health care, thanks to the work we all did last year. Today’s decision will literally save lives.

But there’s still work ahead of us. Radical politicians across the country are not only trying to ignore the will of voters, but they’re trying to make it harder to run and win people-powered ballot measure campaigns.

They’re attacking a core tenet of democracy: the ability to vote on issues directly at the ballot box.

People in red and blue states have voted time and time again to raise wages, expand health care, and move towards economic justice for all. Extremist politicians may not like that, but the people of the people can’t be ignored.

We’re celebrating this win today, but doubling down as we fight back against the attacks so we can win even more campaigns across the country in the months and years ahead.

Let’s celebrate -- and then get back to work.

Thanks,
Kelly Hall
