 Hi team, Our team at The Fairness Project has won over 20 people-powered ballot measure campaigns, changing over 17 million lives by winning progressive change directly at the ballot box. And we’re not stopping yet. We don’t have an “off cycle” -- we’re hard at work planning more campaigns for the months and years to come. But I’ll be honest: with extremist politicians’ recent attacks on our campaigns -- this year alone they’ve introduced over 120 bills attacking the democratic ballot measure process -- we need your help more than ever.
We’ve learned a few lessons from our year-round work winning 20 progressive ballot measure campaigns: maybe most importantly that these campaigns are hard, and we have to start early and begin organizing years in advance. Plus, our next campaigns could be our toughest fights yet. To keep our momentum going on issues like Medicaid expansion, it means taking the fight to states that progressives have ignored for years -- states like South Dakota where thousands of people continue to go without life-saving care.
