Friend,
Democrats are attempting to send our State Legislature into inexcusable chaos! Most of the minority party in the Texas House fled Austin in the middle of a special session of the Legislature while the Republican members seemed discombobulated. Governor Abbott has stated that he will keep calling special sessions until his priorities are finally passed. Are his priorities YOUR priorities?
While the Regular Session of the 87th Texas Legislature marked a major victory for Life, our work is not finished. Our state is the only place in America right now where life-saving opportunities could be teeming if Governor Abbott would engage again on Pro-Life Priorities.
Governor Abbott holds the sole authority to call the Legislature back to Austin for a special session, and only he decides what policies can be considered during each session. The House Democrats abandoned their duties because they do not want to address the conservative issues already placed on the special session agenda. They are testing Governor Abbott.
The liberals have shouted their opposition from the rooftops. The Democrat exodus should have been no surprise in the Capitol, and a plan could have been hatched to quell the chaos. The State Senate has sent a clear message to Texans that they are clocked in on the taxpayer dollar and ready to work.
But the House has not yet fulfilled their duty this special session.
Meanwhile, you and I are also watching with hope that any calls for additional special sessions will include the unfinished matters of the Regular session of the 87th Legislature. The Legislature needs to return to work to save the lives of real people: born and unborn. If essential Pro-Life bills are added in the upcoming special sessions, hospitalized patients and preborn babies with disabilities could be fully protected in Texas law.
