Climate change and infrastructure are inextricably intertwined. Will you sign on to the petition demanding that Congress include ambitious climate measures in the upcoming infrastructure package?

Another dangerous fire season out west. Historic flooding across the world. Unprecedented heat… well, everywhere. Climate change is here, and its impacts are unavoidable.

So as Congress negotiates $579 billion in infrastructure spending, climate change must be a core part of the agenda.

Climate change and infrastructure are inextricably intertwined. Will you sign on to the petition demanding that Congress include ambitious climate measures in the upcoming infrastructure package?

President Biden has proposed a “clean electricity standard,” requiring power companies to continually move towards renewable energy sources until they are no longer emitting carbon dioxide, as well as tax incentives for clean energy. Yet neither of these provisions are included in the current infrastructure bill.

To move forward with an infrastructure package that doesn’t make significant investments in green technology will inevitably cost Americans more money in the long run. As we rebuild roads, bridges, and more, it’s just common sense to ensure that those projects are built with our changing climate in mind.

This infrastructure bill is an opportunity to center climate action, but we’re running out of time. Will you add your name here to ensure Congress includes ambitious climate policy in any infrastructure bill?

Thanks for signing on,

– Cicilline Policy Team
