John,
Christian nationalist leaders are rallying support for a holy war that some believe began with the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6 -- and none of it would be possible without Donald Trump.
To this day, Trump's lies are battle cries to radical Christian nationalists who want to turn the United States into a theocracy. They believe the enforcement of Christian values is the only way to save this country.
“If I ever get elected, my only allegiance will be to the Lord,” one extremist church leader said.
Sound familiar? You're probably remembering when Donald Trump said where his ruinous pandemic policies came from. “We need help from the boss, ” Trump told a roaring crowd in October, pointing skyward. “Jesus Christ.”
This is only the beginning. Christian nationalist leaders have been ramping up rhetoric that sounds eerily similar to the words Donald Trump used to incite the Jan. 6 insurrection. Authoritarian religious extremists have made it clear that nothing is off limits, and there is simply no telling where they will target next.
It's up to critical thinkers like us, John, to root out religious extremism from all levels of government before the separation between church and state completely evaporates. The Center for Freethought Equality is taking a stand -- and we need you on our side.
