Thankfully, Democrats took bold action and broke quorum, and they have now fled the state in an attempt to kill the GOP's undemocratic attempt to restrict the right to vote. While the Texas House Democrats defend democracy through their absence, Beto O'Rourke is defending democracy with his commanding presence.
Beto single-handedly ended the belief that Texas is a solid red state. He helped send Texas Democrats to Congress, allowing us to keep the majority. And now he's leading the fight against Greg Abbott and GOP voter suppression.
