The COVID-19 Delta variant is now appearing across the United States. After a
steady decline, case counts and hospitalizations are rising again -- especially
in areas where vaccination rates are low.

As it spreads, public health experts are learning more about the
effectiveness of vaccines against the Delta variant, the risks it poses to
children who aren't yet eligible for vaccination, and what we can all do to
stay safe.

Dr. Caitlin Rivers, an infectious disease epidemiologist at the Johns Hopkins
Bloomberg School of Public Health, shared her insights on the Delta variant and
what precautions individuals and families can take today:
