The fight to defend our democracy is facing one of its toughest challenges yet.  

Following Texas Governor Greg Abbott calling for a special legislative session to pass voter suppression laws that specifically target people of color, 58 Texas state House Democrats left the state to protect voting rights and to call on Congress to do the same.

It’s not just Texas.

Georgia, Florida, Arizona, and numerous other states are putting Americans’ fundamental right to vote in extreme peril. 

Join DFA and progressive allies as we support Texas Democrats and stand with them in demanding Congress protect and defend the right to vote by passing the For the People Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.

Republicans’ attacks on voting rights all follow the same theme... racist allegations of voter fraud led by Trump’s Big Lie.

This gives them the ammunition they need to lead an authoritarian push to make it more difficult for Americans, particularly people of color, to vote.

With Republican ran state legislatures working across the country to end democracy as we know it, we have to stand up and fight back.
