John –
Happy Sedition Act day.
Today, in 1798, our nation's Senate passed a bill that was one of the first real tests of our freedom of speech. The Sedition Act of 1798 permitted the deportation, fine, or imprisonment of anyone considered a threat or who published “false, scandalous, or malicious writing” against the government of the United States of America.
Today, we would like to honor our favorite seditionist: Marco Rubio.
Marco who aided and abetted insurrectionists on January 6th.
Marco who voted against the January 6th Commission.
Marco who, despite his oath to the U.S. Senate and to the people of our country, voted against holding a man accountable for the treasonous actions of the last four years.
Marco who called attempts at basic accountability for a violent insurrection “a partisan joke.”
So, in honor of the 1798 Sedition Act, chip in $17.98 to help us retire Marco Rubio.
We’ll hand you a mirror and show you a Partisan Joke, Marco.
