The challenges of recent history have only reinforced our commitment to
building a better future.

More than halfway through 2021, we're excited to support a range of
initiatives defined by their creativity, resilience, and optimism: New
possibilities to expand access to higher education. Groundbreaking urban
innovations from mayors and cities around the world. Public art that mobilizes
communities to action. Diverse voices in the fields where our greatest problems
will be solved. And more.

In this edition of our Impact Newsletter, we're proud to showcase some of the
many ways people continue to step up, work together, and improve lives.

Message from Mike: The Race to Zero Emissions is a Race to Broad Solutions
<[link removed]>

As a Global Ambassador for the United Nations Race to Zero and Race to
Resilience campaigns, Mike works to mobilize cities, businesses, investors, and
the public to fight climate change. This week he joined two of his fellow
Global Ambassadors to pen an article about the broad benefits of cutting
harmful emissions — which will not only reduce the effects of climate change,
but will also strengthen public health, protect nature, create jobs and foster
equality and opportunity.

The Growing Need for Virtual College Advising
<[link removed]>

Our CollegePoint program has reached more 70,000 lower-income high school
students since 2014, helping them apply to and enroll in top colleges. The
pandemic highlighted the enormous benefits of virtual advising for students on
their journey to higher education — especially in places where schools lack
resources and students often navigate admissions processes without support.
Nick Watson, program lead of CollegePoint, and Angel B. Pérez, CEO of the
National Association for College Admission Counseling, wrote for Inside Higher
Ed about the importance of virtual advising and why we should expand programs
to reach more students.

Deploying "i-teams" to Support Digital Transformation in Cities
<[link removed]>

<[link removed]>
Six global cities will deploy innovation teams — or "i-teams" — to accelerate
digital transformation of local services. The i-teams will help mayors and city
leaders to leverage data and digital technologies, and enhance public services
in their communities. The teams will work across city government, and with
residents themselves, to understand challenges and develop and test
transformative solutions. "These six cities are already raising the bar for
innovation in the public sector," said Mike. "This investment will help
supercharge their work to bring city services into the digital future." Find
out where the teams are headed, and the impact they will have.
