Today DFA is endorsing Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib.

Since they were first elected with the help of DFA in 2018, Alexandria, Ilhan, Ayanna, and Rashida have fought for the people they were elected to serve and pushed forward for justice for people across the nation.

As we work to support these four powerful women of color, it has to be made clear that Rashida and Ilhan are in legitimate danger of defeat.

Michigan will lose a seat in redistricting and Rashida’s district might be redrawn to pit her against another popular Democrat like Debbie Dingell.

Ilhan Omar is a target for all Republicans and pro-Israel government Democrats that are united against her. Last cycle they came together to make sure her opponent outraised her.

They will try again.

Both Rashida and Ilhan can win, but they will need well-funded campaigns with many volunteers, and progressives cannot take them for granted... we don’t want to drop the ball on these pivotal races.

These four powerful women of color are outspoken, progressives fighters... and corporate Democrats and Republicans hate them. Democratic leadership is scared of them.

And just about every single democrat who is less popular than them is jealous. All of that adds up to the very real fact even many Democrats in Congress want to see them lose.

Don't believe me? Look at the facts: When Ilhan Omar asks questions in a committee hearing that includes inconvenient truths about American and Israel foreign policy, the corporate wing of the Democratic Party demands a public censure from the U.S. House feeding into Republican lies and even escalating tensions and rhetoric that puts Ilhan's life in danger from radical extremist violence.

On the other hand, Marjorie Taylor Greene has verbally assaulted AOC on the steps of the Capitol while continuing to appear at Trump rallies stoking his white supremacist supporters with name-calling, violent rhetoric, and chants of lock her up and yet the corporate Democrat wing is silent. They're not coming to her defense. They're not calling for MTG to be removed from Congress.

So let's be clear here. If there's one thing that both Republicans and Corporate Democrats understand, it's that in Washington DC the more money you raise, the more power you have.

Let's build power for the squad and send a message to everyone in Washington: When progressive women of color stand up and fight, we stand with them.
