We recently rolled out our national strategy for 2022 and beyond. If you missed it, the short version is that even with Trump gone and Democrats in control of the federal government, our democracy remains incredibly fragile. In order to protect and expand it, as well as defeat the GOP up and down the ballot, we developed a 10-year strategic plan to:

1. Keep Virginia blue
2. Protect Democratic majorities in the U.S House and Senate
3. Build Democratic power in the states

As you can see, it starts with Virginia. Swing Left is excited to support our first ever gubernatorial candidate, Terry McAuliffe, as well as 10 candidates for the VA House of Delegates, as we work to preserve the Democratic trifecta in the state. Virginia's 2021 state elections will be the first test of public approval for the Biden administration and an important indicator of Democratic momentum heading into the midterms.

The best way to support our Virginia candidates and help gain momentum as we move into the 2022 midterm elections is to set up a recurring donation through October, right now. 100% of your contribution will go directly to the candidates running in our 11 Virginia races each month to help them run successful campaigns this year.

Democrats in the Virginia state legislature have accomplished so much since securing the 2019 trifecta—like legalizing recreational marijuana, repealing harmful abortion restrictions, and implemented a red-flag gun control law—but 2021 is the ultimate test for their success, and will determine the political climate that Democrats face nationwide in 2022.
