FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 6, 2021 Contact: Derek Dufresne [email protected] 603-860-7781 STATEMENT: Sullivan Response to Mayor Craig's Spending Proposal for American Rescue Plan Funds It isn’t about the money, it is about the lack of leadership and a solid direction for the city of Manchester at the top. Manchester, NH - Victoria Sullivan, a former New Hampshire State Representative and Assistant Majority Leader who served two terms on the House Education Committee, issued the following statement on Mayor Craig's plan to spend the $43 million of federal money coming to Manchester as part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021: "These funds are to be distributed over a two year period, but after that, the taxpayers will be on the hook to sustain Joyce Craig’s massive growth in city expenditures. The bulk of the proposed spending focuses on new salaries, and growing government. One time money should never be used for salaries or job creation. "Manchester has received over $174 million in new funds from the state that is meant to support city operations, the business community, non-profits, and the healthcare infrastructure during the four years that she has held office. Yet, despite additional funds, the city is worse off than it was four years ago due to Joyce’s failures. It isn’t about the money, it is about the lack of leadership and a solid direction for the city of Manchester at the top." ### Paid for by Friends of Victoria Sullivan. Ray Hebert, Treasurer. P.O.
