Today, we celebrate our nation and everything that makes it great. We celebrate our founding, on the virtuous ideals of liberty, democracy, and equality, and are reminded of the struggle to live up to those ideals that has defined this country for 245 years.
From the abolitionists who risked their lives for liberty, to the suffragettes who marched for democracy, to the LGBTQ+ activists and civil rights leaders who striked and boycotted for equality, America has always been made better when those who love it are willing to fight for it.
We must never stop fighting to make this nation better, more equitable, and more free for everyone, and I promise I won’t stop pushing toward the America I know we can be.
Thanks for fighting alongside me. Wishing you a happy, safe, and relaxing 4th of July!
– David
