Friend,
This Fourth of July, we wanted to make sure you saw Reed's message
and had a chance to RSVP to our Town Hall this Wednesday at 7pm
ET.
If
you haven't yet, click here to RSVP and submit a question for Rick and
Steve.
See you Wednesday,
The Lincoln Project
PS - Here's Reed's original message:
On July 4, 1776, the founders of
our country made a statement.
The Declaration of Independence was
the first broadside in the fight to establish the greatest democracy
in the world. And in the nearly 245 years since then, Americans have
stepped up to defend it from threats both foreign and
domestic.
We all know our democracy is under
threat today. An authoritarian movement has risen up and co-opted the
Republican Party. And the margins are razor-thin.
Our mission at the Lincoln
Project has always been clear. We are a pro-democracy organization.
We’ll do whatever it takes to make sure that we beat the authoritarian
movement - Trump, McConnell, McCarthy, and everyone enabling
it.
That’s why this Independence Day
we’re sounding the alarm. Next week, we will launch a series of
actions to make sure every American knows the battle we’re in: it’s
democracy vs. authoritarianism. It’s no longer Republican vs. Democrat
or liberal vs. conservative. You’re either helping save our democracy
or working to destroy it.
How can you help? All of us have a
role to play in this fight. We are hosting a special Town Hall
featuring Steve Schmidt and Rick Wilson. They will lay out our
mission, what the Lincoln Project is doing to defend democracy in
2022, and what you can do to help. This
free town hall is open to all Lincoln Project supporters and will be
this coming Wednesday, July 7, at 7:00PM ET.
If
you would like to attend, please RSVP here -- and leave us a question
or comment you would like Rick and Steve to discuss
live.
We’ll be in touch with specific
actions you can take to defend our democracy. From calling out the
corporations and institutions who are enabling the authoritarians to
helping defend the vote and register voters, your voice and your time
will be critical.
Thank you for keeping the Lincoln
Project in this fight.
