Florida politics has no shortage of bad actors right now – Matt Gaetz and his predatory behavior, the MAGA mentality at Mar-a-Lago, and our personal favorite, Senator Marco Rubio – but have you checked up on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis lately?

It's not news that Ron is a danger to the people of Florida and Marco is one of his greatest enablers. They've worked together to spread conspiracy theories about election fraud, suppress voting rights and further Trump's bigoted agenda – yikes.

...and now twice impeached, single-term, ex-President Donald Trump will be galavanting around Sarasota for his "45 fest" rally.

We heard that DeSantis' office "made a direct plea" to the Trump team to cancel the Florida rally. 

DeSantis' office denies those claims, issuing a statement: that Ron "has never suggested or requested that events planned in different parts of Florida — from the Stanley Cup finals to President Trump’s rally — should be canceled."

That's the last time we get our hopes up about Ron.
