Over the weekend, American athlete Gwen Berry turned her back on the American flag and National Anthem after winning a spot to represent Team USA at the Summer Olympics.
After winning 3rd place and a spot at the Olympics during the U.S. Track and Field Trials, Gwen literally turned away from the American flag as “The Star-Spangled Banner” played.
She then draped herself in a shirt that said “activist athlete.” Later, she said, “The anthem doesn't speak for me. It never has.''
POOR OPPRESSED GWEN, having to suffer through the National Anthem while competing for a spot on Team USA.
Newsflash, Gwen: representing the USA at the Olympics is a privilege. If you don’t like this country, you don’t DESERVE to represent us on the world stage.
