Since the 2020 cycle ended, No Dem Left Behind hasn't taken an "off-year." We've been straight back to the drawing board, crunching numbers and planning out the strategic moves we need to achieve sweeping Democratic victories across the country.
We've put together some highlights of what we've been up to so far this year and our plans to keep the momentum going strong for the rest of 2021. Check it out!
**NO DEM LEFT BEHIND MID-YEAR ROUNDUP 2021**
NEW STRATEGIES:
COMBATTING THE CLIMATE CRISIS: We've shifted major resources to Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, coastal towns, and other rural districts that are highly impacted and concerned with environmental issues. We've been targeting our persuasion in these areas to let these folks know that Democrats will fight for them to combat the climate crisis.
FIGHTING WHITE SUPREMACY: We're more determined than ever to take on white supremacy and to undo the rise in bigotry spread by Donald Trump. We've consulted psychologists and other professionals so that we can work toward understanding and preventing the root causes for these toxic beliefs and how to heal our country from them — including a study on post-Nazi Germany.
SHUTTING DOWN CONSPIRACISTS: Our experts and researchers have identified right-wing hot spots where we've increased our presence by creating a safe haven and support for folks that have lost family members or friends to the QAnon brainwashing. By giving Democrats a platform in these areas, we open more doors for people who have been limited to harmful extremist beliefs.
RALLYING: Now that the country is starting to open up safely, we're planning to take the road to hold rallies across the country. Trump and the GOP aren't the only ones who can fill up a stadium. We'll use these rallies to mobilize and organize coalitions of Democrats so that we can infiltrate more "red zones" as a stronger, more united front and generate enthusiasm around our blue movement.
PARTNERSHIPS:
While executing these unique strategies above, we've also been making plenty of new friends along the way. We've partnered with several like-minded organizations like DemCast, Democratic Coalition, HER Bold Move, and even the DNC.
ENDORSEMENTS:
We're filling up our roster of bold Democratic candidates who are running to protect and expand our majorities in both the House and the Senate...
Our very first endorsement for 2022 went to Congressman Tim Ryan who is running for the open U.S. Senate seat in Ohio.
We're also adding army veteran Marcus Flowers to the list, who has our full support in taking down extremist Marjorie Taylor Greene in Georgia's 14th Congressional District.
Ike McCorkle is ready to flip Colorado's 4th Congressional District blue from the sitting GOP incumbent, and we're endorsing him every step of the way.
Down in Florida, we're getting the band back together with our endorsement of Cindy Banyai in the 19th Congressional District for the second year in a row.
The Sunshine State hasn't seen the last of us yet either — we're also proud to welcome Congresswoman Val Demings to our cohort of endorsed candidates in her fight to defeat Marco Rubio for U.S. Senate in Florida.
...and there's plenty more where that came from! We've already received over 100 applications from candidates looking to join the No Dem Left Behind team, and as always, we're methodically vetting each and every single one of them.
Looking ahead at the remaining half of 2021, we've still got lots of exciting things happening and so much more planned down the pipeline.
But if we're going to continue building our movement, rallying Democrats, flipping seats blue, and protecting our majorities, we need our grassroots team fighting alongside us to make sure we have the resources necessary to elect our Democratic candidates and generate even more momentum for Dems across the country.
