John,
As I monitor our fundraising efforts and talk to Democrats running for office, I see a worrying trend: Democrats are less engaged this year even as the Republican efforts to take back the majority gain momentum.

Check out this quote from a recent Politico article about waning enthusiasm among Democrats:

If you are feeling disillusioned, there’s nothing wrong with that. You were told that all we had to do was take back the House, Senate, and White House in order for our progressive goals to be accomplished. So, you invested, marched, volunteered, and voted to make that happen.
But I’ll admit, Congressional Democrats aren’t accomplishing enough. Democrats don’t have a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, and until we gain the support to abolish the filibuster, Mitch McConnell is still running the show.
That means the infrastructure bill won’t be as large as we hoped, and countless other bills passed by a narrow Democratic House majority are seemingly dead on arrival in the Senate.
But we can’t give up. We need to keep fighting with everything we have. Republicans are laser-focused on taking back Congress, and if we wait much longer to get engaged, it’s going to be too late. Republicans and their pro-Trump, anti-Democracy agenda will have the power.
Today, I’m asking you to show me you are dedicated to keeping the majority in Congress by rushing in a contribution. Any amount demonstrates that you are in this fight with me.
