Last week, we launched Swing Left’s 10-year strategic plan to combat Republican attacks on democracy and elect Democrats up and down the ballot. The work to win in Virginia and gain momentum going in to the 2022 midterm elections starts now—which is why we're hitting the ground running with some exciting opportunities for you to get involved:
- [Attend a Weekend of Action event]([link removed]): The first Swing Left Weekend of Action of 2021 will be July 10–11, and it’s all about Virginia! The weekend will include canvassing events, volunteer-hosted phone banks, and a Swing Left national phone bank on Sunday, July 11 at 3pm ET. We’ll have plenty of opportunities to get involved for those living outside the Virginia area, but for those in-state and nearby, this will mark our return to in-person canvassing events after being fully-virtual since March 2020.
- [Join the Immediate Impact Team]([link removed]): Help Democrats win from wherever you live! Join Swing Left’s Immediate Impact Team on Slack to help scale up voter contact efforts and increase our collective impact on key elections, by phone banking, writing letters, and encouraging your friends and family to volunteer.
- [Write letters to Virginia voters]([link removed]): Vote Forward’s summer long campaign to write 1.5 million letters to Virginia voters kicked off last week. The campaign will send two letters to voters: the first will encourage voting by mail, and a second will be a “please vote” letter available when the "vote by mail" letters are all adopted.
Getting involved now is the best way you can help defeat the GOP in 2022 and in the years to come.
