You’ve probably noticed mentions of “End-of-Quarter” show up in your inbox. So before we ask you to chip in toward our quarterly goal, let us explain what this deadline is actually about.

Federal Election Commission (FEC) reporting deadlines occur at the end of every three-month quarter and are the best barometer pundits, opponents, and other political groups have for the strength of a campaign. Campaigns have to file all their fundraising numbers publicly, and anyone can look at the numbers.

At this critical moment, GOP organizations and dark money groups will look for any signs of weakness as they plan to retake the House. The moment we fall short, Republicans will pounce at the opportunity to throw even more resources toward attacking Democrats like David.

As we close out the second quarter, we’ve got more ground to make up than we expected. David has been busy in Washington passing the American Rescue Plan, the Equality Act, the For the People Act, and more through the House – which has left hardly any time for fundraising!
