John,
I’m reaching out today to ask you to make a contribution to my campaign, if your circumstances allow, before our next FEC quarterly fundraising deadline – which is on Wednesday. My team has set a goal to raise $50,000 by then, after which we are legally mandated to publicly report our fundraising numbers.
Let me explain why a contribution – of any amount – will make a huge difference for our movement (but if you’re ready to give, you can use this link: secure.actblue.com/donate/mj-em-june-2021).
This month and this quarter have been exciting for our movement. We are finally seeing the end of the tunnel of the COVID-19 pandemic, as more and more Americans have received the vaccine.
We have passed legislation that has been, and will be, transformative for working Americans, and my new Policy is Personal PAC is helping elect bold, progressive leaders at all levels of government.
Yet these have been trying times. We are fighting against an obstructionist GOP Senate minority with a handful of conservative Democrats serving as accomplices, protecting the Jim Crow filibuster and dooming the passage of most substantive policy.
Even in the face of such obstacles, we can’t let the status quo remain. My constituents elected me to get things done — and I’m proud to have been named the most active freshman member in the entire Congress. I will not back down from this fight to build a country where working people can thrive, not just survive.
So here’s where you can help: after Wednesday, my team is federally mandated to publicly report our fundraising numbers. At this point in the campaign cycle, we can expect challengers from any party to jump in the race — and if we don’t meet our fundraising goals, people will surely notice and try to capitalize on that.
Meeting each and every one of our fundraising goals allows me to stay focused on the critical work of legislating, allows our team to prepare for any challenge that may come our way this cycle, and allows our movement to be as strong a force as possible.
I’m confident that our people-powered movement will win again this cycle – but only with your help.
Onward,
Mondaire
