David Bowes here, co-founder and Executive Director of Never Again PAC.

I am proud of the work President Biden and Vice President Harris have done for our country, and my co-founder, Ian & I were proud to have been part of making sure that President Trump and Vice President Pence lost the 2020 Presidential Election. But then January 6th came along, and we were shocked by how much President Trump tried to overturn a free and fair election, and how far his enablers in Congress would go to support him in dismantling our democracy.

147 members of Congress, "The Treason Caucus", opted to appease a President who wanted to overthrow the will of the American people before upholding their constitutional responsibilities. They made a conscious decision to seek power above all else, they made their most loud proclamation that they had abandoned democracy and were pursuing American Fascism, Trumpism, and authoritarianism.

147 members of Congress, who for four years either stood idly by refusing to adequately check the power of a fascist executive or cruelly endorsing President Trump’s rampant voter suppression, racism, violence against immigrant cultures, child separation, and outright brazen corruption are just as culpable if not more so for the Trump era as the former President himself, and they cannot be allowed to remain in positions of power.

On January 6th we learned in starkest terms that the fight was not done, that the work we had done faithfully to elect President Biden and Vice President Harris and restore democracy needed to continue, but that we had to defeat the 147 members of Congress who enabled President Trump, for with them in power, our democracy and our most cherished previously inviolable ideals would continue to be at risk.

Democracy isn't an abstract idea, it deserves faithful stewards and robust protections. Ian & I decided it was time for us to step up and do our part, and we are so thankful for our supporters from 46 states who have already stepped up to join us in holding American Fascist members of Congress accountable for their actions.

Beforehand, David served in the Office of U.S. Senator Christopher A. Coons in the U.S. Senate as Special Assistant.
