This Week: At A Glance

Monday, Rep. Young Kim (CA-39) wished long time friend and fellow Congresswoman  Michelle Steel (CA-48) a happy birthday! Rep. Kim and Rep. Steel are among the first Korean American women to serve in Congress. They’re two strong Republican women working together side by side!

Tuesday, Rep. Julia Letlow (LA-05), signed onto a letter to protect the Hyde Amendment. The $6 trillion budget proposal from the Biden administration purposefully excludes Hyde Amendment language, which means American taxpayers will be forced to fund elective abortions. Read more here.

Wednesday, Rep. Michelle Steel (CA-48) scored a huge endorsement from former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley. Watch the video below to hear more about what Rep. Steel has been working on in Congress. 

Also, Rep. Nancy Mace (SC-01) joined Fox News to highlight how Democrats have failed to keep their promises to voters. Click below to watch the full interview. 

"The American people don't support Pelosi's hard-left turn. She has the slimmest majority in Congress in a generation, and she got it by Dems promising voters a moderate and bipartisan agenda. They've broken their promise, and they're going to pay for it next year."

Thursday, Sen. Joni Ernst thanked Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds for her work on the 'Back the Blue' bill to protect law enforcement officers. Between Reynolds and Ernst, women in Iowa have two strong leaders representing them at the state and federal level. Read more about the bill here.

Axios: Biden strikes infrastructure deal with bipartisan group of senators. President Biden announced Thursday that he had agreed to a roughly $1 trillion infrastructure plan with a bipartisan group of ten senators, declaring: "We have a deal."

Wall Street Journal: Nikki Haley Banks Political Favors in Iowa Ahead of Possible 2024 Bid. Nikki Haley has sought in recent remarks to emphasize her own political identity while still appealing to former President Donald Trump’s deeply loyal supporters as she lays the groundwork for a possible 2024 presidential bid.

The Hill: Biden administration backs Trump-era approval of controversial Line 3 pipeline. Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) will meet on Thursday with Democrats working on a bipartisan infrastructure framework, as he tries to keep his caucus on track to pass President Biden’s more sweeping plan.

Fox News: Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks: I fought back against Dems' election untruths. Here's what I learned about S1.   "With the Senate poised to vote this week on S. 1, their version of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s election takeover bill, I am reminded of how the Democrats did everything they could to cast doubt on my own hard-fought election victory and how S. 1 is their effort to take their disinformation campaign about Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District election to the national stage."

CBS News: Republican Yvette Herrell invites Vice President to southern border again.  

Congresswoman Yvette Herrell wrote Harris on Tuesday saying the crisis on America's southern border is worsening. Harris has yet to visit the border since being assigned President Biden's Border Czar.
