Our democracy is under attack. And we must act now to restore faith in our voting system.

GOP-controlled legislatures are introducing harmful anti-voter bills designed to disenfranchise voters, primarily low-income, non-white, and rural Americans. Voter registration restrictions, mail-in voting limitations, cuts to early voting, precinct closures, and gerrymandering are all part of Republican attempts to make it harder to vote.

And nobody can forget last year's election when disgraced former-President Trump undermined our election system with false claims meant to discourage voters from casting their ballot. Voter protection is more critical than ever, and Congress has the power to put a major safeguard in place to do just that — by passing the For The People Act.

This pro-democracy flagship reform package contains comprehensive voter protections, bans partisan gerrymandering, and implements high ethical standards. The bill would give everyday people and voters a bigger voice in politics.

The For The People Act has already passed the House, but Republicans like Mitch McConnell will stop at nothing to block it. And with the Senate vote expected to happen this week, we urgently need to show strong public advocacy.
