My friend and colleague in the House, Val Demings, just announced her bid for the U.S. Senate seat in Florida where she’ll be taking on Marco Rubio in 2022.

You heard that right: Val is facing off against Republican Senator Marco Rubio, one of Trump’s staunchest allies who has gone all in to appease the far-right.

At a time where our Senate is at a 50-50 gridlock, I can’t think of a better candidate to flip a seat from red to blue and secure our majority than Val Demings — but first we need to have her back.
