Last week as millions of Texans conserved energy to keep the power on, Gov. Greg Abbott announced his plan to spend $250 million in taxpayer money on a useless border wall around Texas.

He hasn’t spent a dime to fix our power grid help Texans pay the $18 billion surge in utility bills from the winter storm. But he wants to use your taxpayer dollars for Trump’s racist pet project. It’s shameful.

Greg Abbott is failing Texans, but he has to face the voters in 2022. People First is working to flip Texas and elect Democrats across the state. Can you pitch in to help unseat Greg Abbott and the other Republicans failing Texas? [[link removed]]

It’s no secret that Texas’ energy system is a mess. Rather than create a system designed to withstand the extremes of our weather and expand green jobs, Republicans created a power system that lined the pockets of energy lobbyists and their wealthy donors.

We saw the consequences of Texas Republicans’ failures when more than 700 people died in the winter power crisis earlier this year.

Now, in record temperatures Texans are forced to conserve energy at a time of desperate need. Vulnerable people were put at risk of heat-related illnesses and deaths all because Greg Abbott failed to do his job and prepare...again.

Texas needs new leadership, and People First is dedicated to helping elect progressives at all levels of Texas government that will help working people. Please make a donation today to support our movement. [[link removed]]
