The right to vote is under attack across the country.

From Georgia and Florida to Arizona and Texas, GOP state legislators are invoking Donald Trump’s Big Lie that the 2020 election was stolen from him to pass new voter suppression bills throwing up barriers to the ballot box.

Generations of Americans have fought to secure the right to vote and make this country live up to its democratic ideals.

We can’t let these Trump Republicans take us back and block our progress.

These crucial pieces of legislation would reform our campaign finance laws to get secret money out of our elections, end gerrymandering, and so much more.

Crucially, the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act would restore a key provision of the Voting Rights Act that grants the Department of Justice power to “pre-clear” election rules in states with a history of voter suppression — a provision that was gutted by the Supreme Court in 2013.

The right to vote is essential to our democratic experiment. We cannot allow attacks on our democracy to go unanswered.
