Senator Marco Rubio spent the week leading up to Juneteenth calling well-documented and suffered racial inequities in health care "crazy nonsense."

Conversely, here's how his opponent, Congresswoman Val Demings, put it last year:

"The disparities in our health care system show themselves when minority communities have fewer resources. But they can also be heartbreakingly personal, like when Black Americans aren’t believed, or are denied care. It’s tragic, and preventable."

That compassion lands a little differently, huh?

Imagine a Florida that's being represented and led with earnestness, understanding, and grit. Think of what could be accomplished on the Senate floor for the rest of the country with a fierce advocate for us rather than special interests.
