The Georgia GQP is trying to copy the sham Arizona election audit here in our state.

According to the AJC, this week State Sens. Brandon Beach and Burt Jones, accompanied by their Trumpist buddy state GQP chair David Shafer, participated in a walk-through of the political theater happening in Arizona.

Time and again, a faction of leading Georgia Republicans have shown they're more focused on re-litigating the 2020 results instead of doing the hard work of building a diverse and inclusive conservative base to actually try and win an election.

Across the nation the GQP is attempting to set a precedent for how future American elections will play out. If they lose, they will conduct these sham "audits", cry election fraud, then work with state legislatures to void the results they don't like. And if they win back the U.S. Senate or the House, they will actively work to overturn the election at the federal level.

With Georgia remaining a critical battleground in the path to the presidency and control of Congress, their efforts will be much, much worse here than anywhere else in the country.
