Texas Republicans tried to pass one of the most restrictive voter suppression bills in the country, but Texas Democrats outmaneuvered them and blocked the law from passing... for now.

But we know Greg Abbott is going to call a special session to try and force this racist anti-democracy bill through — just like we’ve seen in states across the country.

That’s why Texas Democrats traveled to Washington this week to ask Senate Democrats to pass the For the People Act and protect voting rights. They need us to keep the pressure on before it’s too late.

Our best hope of fighting against Republicans’ voter suppression efforts is to pass the For the People Act. Please make a contribution today to support our critical work to organize and pass this bill. [[link removed]]

The Texas legislators who came to DC had the opportunity to meet with Vice President Kamala Harris and many Senate Democrats -- including Senator Joe Manchin. And on Wednesday Senator Manchin backed a number of key components of the For the People Act!

Senator Manchin opened the window to democracy reform -- now it’s on us to turn up the pressure to pass the bill, even if it means ending the filibuster to get it done.

This is not a fight we can afford to give up. Please join People First in this fight to pressure Congress to pass the For The People Act today. Our democracy is on the line. [[link removed]]
