*Office of Administration announces that all state offices will be closed Friday, June 18 to commemorate Juneteenth national holiday*

*JEFFERSON CITY*?-?Today, consistent with the enactment of a new federal statute and?1 CSR 20-5.010(2)(A) [ [link removed] ] providing for state holidays as designated by law, the *Office of Administration* announced that all state offices will be closed tomorrow to celebrate Juneteenth (June 19th). Juneteenth is our nation?s new holiday that recognizes an important event in our country's history. It is the nation's first new national holiday in almost forty years. Juneteenth has been previously recognized by Missouri law in Section 9.161, RSMo, and commemorates the day that slavery came to an end in the United States.
