In 2018 we knocked down the House by helping elect one of the most influential political figures in American history and together we’ve built a movement. But we’re not done!

In 2020 we’re going to knock down the Senate! Brand New Congress has already announced two inspiring and authentic candidates who will bring accountability and action to the Senate floor!

This week BNC announced the addition of Maggie Toulouse Oliver to our 2020 slate. Maggie is running for a seat held by long-time incumbent Tom Udall, who is retiring this term. That means the door is wide open for a strong progressive candidate to bring voice to the people of New Mexico.

Imagine what a BNC representative can accomplish with their 6-year term in the Senate. Can you contribute today to help Maggie become one of our first BNC representatives in the Senate?

Maggie’s already serving as Secretary of State for New Mexico and during her tenure she’s fought for voter rights, taken on the Koch brothers and fought for women’s rights.

Maggie embodies what we mean at BNC when we say we want more diverse voices in Congress. We need representatives who know what it’s like to live pay-check to pay-check, live without healthcare, and deal with our broken and underfunded childcare systems. Maggie was a single mom at the age of 24, without healthcare, and a son on Medicaid. She worked her way through college, to build a better life for her family and after graduating found herself saddled with the burden of student loan debt.

We need more representatives in the Senate who understand the struggles, and will fight for a better future for all of us!

More progressives are in the House than anytime in history and our future BNC House representatives will need backing in the Senate. We can no longer see legislation like the Violence Against Women’s Act, DACA renewal, and others meet a dead-end in the Senate after passing in the House.

If we want to pass the Green New Deal, Medicare for All and create a humane immigration system that works for EVERYONE, we must reshape the Senate in 2020. Your contribution today can help Maggie and BNC get work done!
