Today I released my plan for economic development and revitalization in Knoxville. My plan is a multi-pronged approach with six broad areas of focus:
· Support a qualified workforce.
· Foster entrepreneurship and innovation.
· Collaborate regionally.
· Promote responsible revitalization.
· Catalyze economic opportunity for all.
· Ensure high quality of life.

This week I attended the opening of Perk City, a new locally owned coffee shop in East Knoxville.
By taking a comprehensive approach to economic development, we can create a community that provides tremendous opportunities. Whether a business is a mom-and-pop shop, a tech startup, a large manufacturing facility or a Fortune 500 company, Knoxville will be able to provide the workforce, real estate, quality of life and resources necessary for success.
