Friend, the Paycheck Fairness Act fell victim to the Senate filibuster this week and became the latest piece of our progressive agenda to be buried in Mitch McConnell's legislative graveyard.

We are beyond frustrated that the GOP is still standing against equal pay for women. There is no excuse for Mitch McConnell's obstinate rejection of decency. And this is just further evidence that no progressive legislation -- no matter how widely popular across both major political parties -- will be able to clear the Senate with the filibuster intact.

The good news is that we have a plan for expanding our Senate majority and ending the filibuster once and for all so that we can pass progressive legislation like the Paycheck Fairness Act, and that plan hinges on Val Demings.

Demings was a co-sponsor for the Paycheck Fairness Act in the House, and she will continue to fight for a progressive future once she takes over Marco Rubio's Senate seat. But Mitch McConnell knows what a threat Demings is to the GOP's agenda. He is pleading with his corporate donors to funnel as much campaign cash as they can to defeat Demings and keep Marco Rubio in his vulnerable seat.
