After Cawthorn helped incite the insurrection, he spent the last six months courting Trump’s favor. A representative from Cawthorn’s office reports that they have “developed a very close relationship… the two Republican leaders are cut from the same cloth.”

Trump’s right on one count: Madison Cawthorn is the new face of Trumpism.

After a private conversation with Trump at the convention, Cawthorn predicted “a new American Renaissance in politics… in elections even 8 to 10 years away.” Cawthorn will be old enough to run for President in 10 years.
