Monday, Rep. Ashley Hinson (IA-01) and Rep. Beth Van Duyne (TX-24) called out Vice President Harris's lack of leadership regarding the ongoing border crisis. To date, the VP has yet to visit the border.
Tuesday, Vice President Harris provided flippant answers about her response to the border crisis and faced major backlash after an interview with NBC's Lester Holt. After Holt stated that she hadn’t been to the border, Harris responded: “And I haven’t been to Europe,” she said, laughing. “I don’t understand the point that you’re making.” Earlier in the interview, she explained: “We are going to the border. Axios: Consumer prices rose 5% from last May, as pace of inflation ticks up. Consumer prices rose last month by 5% compared to May of 2020, marking the biggest year-over-year gain since August 2008, according to Consumer Price Index data released this morning. Prices were 0.6% higher in May than they were in April.

President Biden’s policy toward China came into sharper focus over the past week, with initiatives that suggest the president plans to retain his predecessor’s tough stance toward Beijing, despite differences in execution.
The Hill: Biden proposes minimum 15 percent tax for corporations: report. President Biden proposed enforcing a minimum corporate tax of 15 percent as a possible way to fund his infrastructure proposal as he and Republican negotiators make a final push for common ground.
Fox News: Migrant encounters rise above 180K in May as border crisis continues. CBP said that 180,034 migrants were encountered along the border, an increase over the 178,000 encountered in April and 173,000 were encountered in March – all representing the highest numbers in years. March saw a big increase from the 100,000 migrants encountered in February.
