Unlike investments made in the past, the American Jobs Plan includes promises to include communities of color and rural communities in their massive investment of clean energy.
Investments in wind turbines have been known to bring millions to farmers and ranchers in the Midwest, and provide tax revenue to those areas that can be invested in schools or other development projects. Community solar programs are on the rise in rural communities to combat climate change as well as the extremely high electric bills in those areas.
All of these investments have the backing of the American people. Recent polls show that every provision of the plan, including the plan to pay for these investments by raising corporate taxes, have the majority of Americans' support.
The bottom line is that rural communities have a lot to gain from the programs of Biden's American Jobs Plan.
