Team,
NewDems believe that there is dignity in ALL work, and wages should reflect that.
But right now, the federal minimum is sitting at $7.25 an hour, where it’s been for over a decade. Because of that, millions of Americans who work 40 hours a week still live in poverty.
$7.25 an hour doesn’t cut it anymore, but we want to hear from you. Do you support raising the federal minimum wage?
Since 2009 the cost of rent, groceries, medications, and college tuition have all increased significantly. Meanwhile, the federal minimum wage hasn't moved an inch.
Good jobs with decent wages built the American dream and our middle class. Now, it’s time for us to make sure that dream can continue with the next generation — and it starts by raising the federal minimum wage.
Our take is simple: Congress should support a minimum wage increase that’s durable — meaning Republicans won’t simply roll it back — and can win enough support to actually reach the President’s desk.
But what do you think? Take a quick second and share your thoughts on raising the minimum wage now.
Thank you,
NewDems
