Friends,

My family and I didn’t have much growing up. I was raised in public housing and my mom worked three jobs to make ends meet. But what we could always count on was my stepdad’s union work as a teamster.

That’s why I care so much about supporting workers and the labor movement. Because it isn’t academic to me: I’ve experienced what a union job can do for a family in need.

I’m so proud to have received far more major union endorsements than any other candidate in this race.

One of the most important duties of the Comptroller is to oversee the City’s five public pension funds. To know that the teachers, firefighters, and city workers who depend on those pensions have put their trust in me inspires me to work that much harder for them.

New York City is a union town and I’m proud to be the union candidate.

Members of these unions will be on the campaign trail with me leading up to the June 22nd Primary and I hope you’ll join us.
