Hi team, Over the past few years we’ve seen radical politicians attack voting rights, making it harder to vote, closing polling places, limiting mail voting during the pandemic, and more. Now, these politicians are attacking another tenant of our democracy: ballot initiative campaigns, where the people can vote directly on issues. The Fairness Project has won 20 ballot initiative campaigns to win real change when politicians refuse to act -- even in deep-red states. But now, they’ve seen our wins and want to change the rules. They want to silence the people, make it harder to win ballot initiatives, and protect corporate donors over working people. We won’t let them get away with it.
It’s not enough to make it harder for people to vote. They want to limit the things we can vote on. They’d rather squash democracy than give people health care or a raise. It’s politics at its worst. If you believe politicians should stop attacking voting rights and democracy, add your name today.
