Republicans are systematically tearing down voting rights in this country, friend.

In the past few months, GOP state legislatures have introduced hundreds of voter restriction bills to keep low-income communities and communities of color out of the electorate entirely.

Republican lawmakers saw how we came together at the ballot box last year – and they want to keep us from exercising our power like that ever again. And state legislatures aren’t acting alone either – 20 GOP Attorneys General recently denounced H.R. 1 (a sweeping set of federal voter protection bills) as “unconstitutional.”

To be clear: This is a coordinated effort from a failing party to steal elections they can’t win, at the expense of communities they don’t care to represent. By design, these bills make voting inaccessible for BIPOC communities, low-income folks, the elderly, and people with disabilities.

This isn’t democratic, and Dem AGs have been mobilizing to stop these Republican operatives in their tracks.

So far this year, 14 states have already passed new laws to restrict our access to the polls – with dozens more bills up for votes soon. As the People’s Lawyers, Dem AGs are one of few checks against radical GOP state legislatures, and they’re leveraging every tool they have to keep our votes safe – from suing in defense of mail-in ballots to urging Congress to pass bold federal protections.
